If the pulp becomes infected, the infection can spread through the entire root canal system of the tooth. This will eventually lead to an abscess. Root canal, or endodontic treatment, cleans out the infected pulp chamber and repairs the damage so the tooth can be saved.
learn moreMahdi has had a passion for endodontics since he left dental school and decided to pursue his interest by embarking upon the three-year MSc Endodontic Practice programme at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Here he was able to greatly advance his knowledge base and technical skill in endodontics, and also gained valuable experience by treating complex cases referred to the hospital by general dental practitioners.

Before moving to Sawbridgeworth he worked in a London practice and abroad as a Chief Dental Officer for a province in Papua New Guinea. This experience proved very useful when he took over the practice in 1990, as it has equipped him to continually improve both the care and quality of treatment we offer. His primary focus, however, is on private dentistry because it better enables him to pursue excellence when freed from the constraints of NHS rationing. Private dentistry allows more time for consultation, and treatment with a much wider range of materials and procedures, achieving the best possible results.
His 30 years in practice has taught him that it is possible to retain a complete and healthy set of teeth throughout the whole of your life. He sees helping you achieve this as the most important part of his job. He do not believe in quick fixes that won’t last, but strive for quality results that will last a lifetime.
