Periodontal disease is usually a slow, painless, progressive condition. Most adults with this disease are unaware they have it but if diagnosed and treated early the teeth can be saved.
learn moreDeep tooth decay, deep fractures or an injury due to trauma, can cause serious damage and infection to the pulp. If the pulp becomes infected, the infection can spread through the entire root canal system of the tooth. This will eventually lead to an abscess. Root canal, or endodontic treatment, cleans out the infected pulp chamber and repairs the damage so the tooth can be saved.
learn moreJia graduated from King's College London with distinction in 2020. Since she qualified, she worked in Buckinghamshire and has now moved to Cambridge to join the practice.
Jia is committed to providing holistic patient-centred care in a calm and relaxed setting. She has recently completed courses on smile alignment and restorative dentistry. While she is yet to choose a speciality that she would like to pursue, she continues her professional development through various dental courses.
Outside of work, Jia enjoys travelling, caféhopping, and cooking.
Dr Hongyi He graduated from King’s College London in 2020. After foundation training she started working at Cambridge Smile Studio, undertaking NHS and private treatment.
Hongyihas also completed a course on smile alignment and hopes to improve and continue her professional development through dental courses. She also enjoys reading dental research papers to keep up to date. She aims to provide a holistic approach to dental care and help all patients feel comfortable during her care.
Outside of dentistry, Hongyi likes to spend time with friends and family, trying new foods from all around the world. In addition, she is an avid crocheter and has a very large, well-kept plant collection.
Dr Shonia Atchu graduated from King's College London in 2020. She completed her Foundation Training in North London. Following that, she ventured into Dental Core Training in Oral Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in King's Lynn. There she gained skills in minor oral surgery, dealing with dento-facial emergencies, and gained great exposure to oral cancer.
Shonia is a keen learner and does her best to improve herself on a daily basis. She plans to continue her career development by going on courses. Recently, she gained her MFDS qualification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. She believes in providing the best care to her patients and often times goes out of her way to achieve this.
Outside of dentistry, Shonia is a big foodie - enjoys cooking, occasionally baking and enjoys visiting new places and restaurants with friends. She also enjoys outdoor activities and keeping active.
Puja graduated from Medical University Varna, Bulgaria in 2023.
Born and bred in Cambridge, she has deep roots to the city and sense of community.
After living abroad for 6 years amongst people from different countries and cultural backgrounds, she believes in building strong relationships with each individual, taking the time to listen to their concerns and tailor treatment plans to meet their specific needs and goals. She likes to her keep her self updated and has a passion for continual learning and advancement.
Puja enjoys doing voluntary work and in October 2023 she flew to Madagascar to provide dental aid and education on basic oral hygiene across the country to a number of unserved communities.
Aside from dentistry, Puja enjoys keeping fit, visiting new cities, hosting dinner parties and spending quality time with her family.
Dr Omar Qureshi graduated from Newcastle University at the tender age of 22 in 1992. He moved to Cambridge in 1994 as an associate, later taking over the practice in 2001.
He is a firm believer in Continued Professional Development and is a graduate of the Rosenthal Institute at NYU and the UCLA Aesthetic Continuum.
He completed his certificate in Implantology at the London dental Institute. He isa full member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and a founder member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He continues to pursue excellence in Cosmetic Dentistry by attending courses throughout Europe andNorth America.
Dr Omar Qureshi was one of the first people in the UK to use Invisalign and has over 10 years experience. He is currently taking on new Invisalign cases in his Cambridge and London practices.
Danish joined our team in March 2020 after qualifying with a degree in Dentistry in 2014 and in 2016 he obtained his MSC in Dental Science for clinical practice from the Queen Mary University of London.
Outside of Dentistry, Danish enjoys spending time with his family, he is also a keen cook and an avid cricket fan. Danish is planning to relocate to Cambridge as he currently commutes all the way from Huddersfield!
Amal graduated as a Dental Hygienist & Therapist from the University of the Highlands & Islands in 2015 and is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy. She has experience working as a Dental Therapist and Oral Health Promoter treating children & adults with dental anxiety and behavioural & medical complexities.
She has a keen interest in paediatric dentistry and creating a calm environment for her patients. Her patients compliment her gentle hygiene delivery.
Outside of work she likes to spend time with her family.
Tannaz joined the practice in April 2018. She is very interested in Dentistry and Management of the practice. Tannaz likes to look after the patients and keep them happy.
Since her time here, Tannaz was promoted to Practice Manager in 2021 and has now been promoted to Area Manager in 2023.
In her spare time Tannaz enjoys spending time with her family and going to the gym.
Chelsey joined the team at Cambridge Smile Studio in 2015 when she finished school at just 17 years old. She qualified as a dental nurse in January 2018.
Chelsey has a bubbly personality and always has a smile on her face. Her approachable nature always makes patients feel at ease.
Outside of work, Chelsey enjoys spending time with family, going out with friends and weekends away.
Katrina has been working at Cambridge Smile Studio since 2004. She now works part time after having two little ones. She enjoys working as part of a team and says it’s always nice to see familiar and new faces of patients over the years.
Out of work Katrina enjoys going for nice meals, looking after her two young children and spending time with family and friends.
Lacie is new to the practice she started in October 2022 and so far, she is loving her nursing journey! Lacie is excited to learn more skills, and help people feel more confident and comfortable within the dental environment.
Lacie in her spare time enjoys spending time with her family, trying new foods and relaxing!
